Abstract
A total of 1162 research articles, published from 2001 to 2010 in three major journals of library and information science (LIS), are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively in order to address some recurring themes about research method selection and application in the scholarly domain. This study shows that LIS scholars utilize a greater number and wider variety of research methods than before. Replacing the dominant positions that questionnaire survey and historical method previously held, content analysis, experiment, and theoretical approach have become the top choices of research methods in the field. This study also examines two recurring themes regarding research methods in the LIS field, namely, use of multiple methods in one study and adoption of the qualitative approach, but finds no conclusive evidence of increased implementation of either practice. چکیده
از سال ۲۰۰۱ تا سال ۲۰۱۰ ، ۱۱۶۲ مطالعه تحقیقاتی در سه مجله مهم در زمینه علوم کتابداری و اطلاع رسانی (LIS) منتشرشده است که در این مطالعه تمامی این مقالات بصورت کمی وکیفی مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفته اند و بعضی موضوعات تکراری در رابطه با انتخاب شیوه تحقیق و کاربرد آن درحوزه پژوهشگرانه مطرح می شود. این بررسی مشخص میکند که پژوهشگران حوزه LIS نسبت به قبل از شیوه های تحقیقاتی گسترده تر و متفاوت تری استفاده می نمایند. با جایگزین شدن شیوه های غالبی که در پرسشنامه ها و شیوه های تاریخی پیشین وجود داشته، تجزیه و تحلیل محتوا، آزمودن و رویکرد نظری به بهترین گزینه برای شیوه تحقیق تبدیل شده اند. افزون بر این، این مطالعه دو موضوع تکراری در باب شیوه های تحقیق در زمینه LIS، یعنی استفاده از شیوه های چندگانه در یک مطالعه و اتخاذ یک رویکرد کیفی را مورد بررسی قرار داده است، اما هیچگونه شواهد قطعی در رابطه با اینکه کدام شیوه بیشتر مورد استفاده قرار گرفته پیدا نکرده است.تصمیم گیری نمایند.
مقدمه
روشهاي تحقيق، درتلاش هاي علمي در زمينه کتابداري و اطلاع رساني(LIS) نقش مهمي ايفا مي نمايند و بسياري از پژوهشگران به بررسي روش هاي تحقيقLIS پرداخته اند. برخي از پژوهشگران انواع روشهاي تحقيق را بررسي نموده اند (برنهارد،1993؛بليک، 1994؛جارولين و واکاري،1990؛پاول، 1999). ساير پژوهشگران نيز در مقايسه با روش هاي کمّي به بررسي اين امر پرداختند که چه ميزان از تحقيقات به روش کيفي صورت گرفته است (الدرج، 2004، فيدل، 1993؛ هايدر و پايم، 2008؛ ژانگ و همکاران، 2012). نويسندگان در دهه هاي اخير به مطالعاتي که براي جمع آوري داده ها و تجزيه و تحليل از روش هاي مختلط يا چندگانه استفاده نموده اند، توجه خاصي داشته اند (فيدل، 2008؛ لي، 2002؛ ما، 2012).
